What comes into your mind when thinking of that first Christmas celebration?
When Mary gave birth to a son in Jerusalem. This was the birth of Christ the Lord in the flesh as a baby bringing great joy to this earth. He was humbly laid in the manger.
I hope your mind is not filled with images of Santa Claus, or Christmas trees, or presents. I pray that the presence of God dwelling inside of you warms your heart this Christmas Day, and all year long, rather than finding much excitement over presents you find stacked neatly under your Christmas tree this morning.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. (Luke 2:11-12 KJV)
This is the day we celebrate Jesus Christ’s virgin birth in the flesh. It is the day set aside for honoring and glorifying Him. This day has never been all about getting and receiving gifts. We pray this Christmas Day you will honor and glorify God as you celebrate with close friends and family.
Merry Christmas and may God Bless to all of you!
