What Is Reasonable Service?
Romans 12:1 (KJB) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
This verse begs us to ask and examine what is reasonable service?
God has an expectation upon the life of every child of God. He has a will for each of us and a journey He desires for us to embark on in this world. This is not a journey of finding self, or in complying with this world, it is a journey which brings honor and glory to God. In fact, we are the temple of God or a living billboard for things of God.
Acceptable service to God is admonished in this verse for our acceptance, action, and understanding. God is eager for each of us to do our part all for His glory in this world. God did not allow us to be born and to exist on this earth for achieving our own means and accomplishment. Instead, he has some specific tasks for us to handle in His precious name.
Not only does God wish us to be actively seeking hearts we can sow the gospel message, but He desires that we live lives that are holy and pleasing unto Him as we sojourn in this world. He wants you to raise up off the church pew and get out in this world to tell others about Him!
God did not send you to this world to sit on the fence and umpire events at work in this world. Or to sit nonchalantly on a church pew week after week. God desires that you will put boots on the ground and get involved in making a difference in the lives of others all for His honor and glory.
