Whatsoever Covers Every Situation
Colossians 3:17 (KJV) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Whatever you do, this statement encompasses every act, thought, and every word you speak. In other words, all means all and not just some. All means in every moment and is not speaking of a part-time religion where a person can reserve times to feel religious.
Not only does the power and presence of God comprise every softened area in the sincere life of a professing Christian, but this verse tells us that we are to desire to live and do all in the name of Jesus Christ and giving heartfelt thanks and glory to God through His Son in the spiritual sanctification process as we sojourn on this earth.
No person can choose to live a life apart from God. Or choose to be a part-time Christian whenever a “religious mood” comes into focus. Instead, God declares we are to live for Him and by Him in all circumstances with sincere thanks naturally accorded to Him.
