When I Saw Him
Revelation 1:17-18 (KJB) And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Imagine a face to face meeting with God. His face would shine with such light and brilliance that no man could look at and live. Remember Jonah was protected as God passed by to spare his life.
These verses are recorded in the Apostle John’s own viewpoint and divine words for describing his supernatural glimpse into eternity: John said he fell, as if dead, at the feet of Christ upon his foretaste of eternity. God laid His hand on John and comforted Him in his time of great anxiousness as he faced spiritual unfamiliarity around the throne of God.
The power and presence of God in eternity is brilliant, unimaginable to our finite mind from our present vantage on this earth. The nature of God is filled with a calming peace and comfort to stave off any fear of His inconceivable eternal presence and nature.
