Whining And Complaining Is Not The Precedent
Philippians 2:14 (KJV) Do all things without murmurings and disputings.
Throughout this second chapter of Philippians, via the Apostle Paul, God gave us a pattern. The crux of the matter is that we are to do all things without complaining despite any circumstance we find ourselves standing. Whoa, this might seem challenging, or in humanistic thinking, near impossible to accomplish.
However, one must consider is that a child of God can do anything inside God’s will for his life without the need to grumble and moan. Why, because the truth is that following God makes it possible to do whatever He asks us to do, giving none of us any justification to complain.
Consider that, without God, none of us can do anything without facing a slew of obstacles and impossibilities in our strength. Still, with God, we are confident in the direction and desires in which He leads us and know the outcome will always be a blessing!
Finally, we must consider the most significant test. In the garden, Jesus Christ got down on His knees and spoke candidly to His Father concerning the weight of the will placed upon His life. Jesus did not whine and complain; instead, He chose to follow through with God’s goal, divinely set on His life with peace.
Whining and gossiping by sincere professing children of God does not mirror the character and longsuffering of Christ, nor will it bring the peace and blessing of God. Instead, murmuring will cause heartache and hurt to ourselves and others about us. Instead, choosing to follow God despite the cost, willing to suffer, honors, and pleases God.
